Cleveland Cavaliers fans plan to host a parade after it transpired that their starting center, Tristan Thompson, apparently punched Draymond Green ,a member of the Golden State warriors, a month ago at an Espy afterparty hosted by Lebron James.

The two players were said to be separated by Lebron James and Kevin Durant, but the party is said to have continued without incident thereafter.

The parade in honor of Tristan Thompson is set for the 13 October at 3:10 pm ET and has a dedicated facebook events page .  The time (3.10pm) seems to be a reference to the 2016 NBA Finals where the Cleveland Cavaliers came back from a 3-1 deficit to win the series and win Cleveland its first ever NBA trophy.

The Tristan Thompson and Draymond Green, have long had a history of animosity , stretching back to the NBA Finals where Golden State swept the Cleveland Cavaliers , 4 games to nothing, despite heroic numbers posted by Lebron James.  In game 1, both players almost came to blows after they got tangled up going for a rebound. After the Golden State warriors won game four Draymond Green refused to shake hands with Tristan Thompson.

Tristan Thompson, 27, was the fourth pick of the 2011 draft. As a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers, he has enjoyed a streak of four straight finals appearances, winning the NBA championships in 2017. He is married to Khloe Kardashian.

Draymond Green , 28, was the 35th pick of the 2012 draft and has since developed into perhaps the most dominance defensive player in the league today and been the linchpin , and vocal leader of the Golden States team which has won three championships in four years and won a record-breaking 73 regular season games (out of a possible total of 82) two seasons ago.

The scuffle was said to have begun when Tristan Thompson apparently ‘sucker punched’ Draymond Green while they were both attending an Espy’s afterparty hosted by Lebron James. Draymond Green has since come out to deny that he had been punched saying that the facts were ‘innacurate’ .
