The Reds, strolled past the portugese side of Porto in their first league of their Champions League Quarterfinals fixture.

The Reds coming off from a dramatic win against Southampton in the premier league where they trailed after 5 minutes and came back from behind to win , have been in blistering form.

The game was never really in doubt with Naby Keita providing the opening after 5 minutes after his from just outside the box was deflected in by a Porto defender and Bobby Firmino provided the second after a nifty piece of build up play and a fabulous assist from Alexander Arnold , who curled a cross across the mouth of goal. The Brazilian striker only had to tap the ball in.

The Reds have picked up where they left off. In the previous meetings between the two sides last year in the last round of 16, Liverpool beat Porto 5-0 on aggregate including a hat-trick by Senegalese winger Sadio Mane.

Wasteful Porto

Porto will rue missed chances as Malian striker Moussa Marega proving wasteful four times, failing to threaten the keeper after a number of good balls.

The away side chose to open up early pressing the Liverpool side and giving the wingers space to run into , something which ultimately played in Liverpool’s hands.

Dominant Liverpool

The reds seem to be building momentum when it counts. Locked in a two-horse race with leaders City , Liverpool which has only lost once this season in the premier league , is looking to en a spell of more than 29 years without a title. They currently sit top of the table with 82 points 2 in front of City who have a game in hand.

Liverpool fans will also be encouraged with another strong showing from summer signing Naby Keita who , scored his first goal in the champions league with Liverpool after , scoring his first goal in a Liverpool shirt over the weekend playing against Southampton.

The Reds will now try to keep their premier league title chase on track when they host a resurgent Chelsea at home on the 14th of april
